Participants in ROCK Hour learn about God’s love and the teachings of Jesus through engaging, theme-based activities. Every week, kids join the ROCK Hour Band to sing energetic and cool scripture-based songs. There is a strong emphasis on appreciating diversity to help our kids understand and value this big, beautiful world God created!
Food & Hospitality Team
Our delightful team sets and serves treats every Sunday Morning between the two services We also assist with meals planned for funerals, Lenten Meals, Hanging of the Greens and special events. Many hands make the work light and efficient and over all good times are shared with people we love.
We take inclusion seriously at Pilgrim. So seriously that we assembled a team in 2010 to begin the official process of being recognized as an Accessible to All (A2A) Congregation by the UCC’s Disabilities Ministry. Even after we gained the designation, we continued our quest to extend our welcome to everyone by maintaining an active Inclusion Team.
We pride ourselves on being a mission church doing the work that Jesus urged us to do in caring for the poor and marginalized. We strive to maintain a balance between local, national and internatioal mission endeavors. Our mission causes include: One Great Hour of Sharing, Habitat for Humanity, Interfaith Caregivers, Family Sharing, CROP Walk and St. Ben's Meal Program. WE have sent mission teams to Africa (Knya), Mississippi, Honduras, Florida, El Salvador, North Carolina, Mexico and many more areas in need. We have also provided support to people in Afghanistan, China, The Darfur Region and Haiti.
The congregation of Pilgrim UCC aspires to be a safe and nurturing place. Our goal is to provide a safe environment for everyone; children, youth, adults, visitors and employees who participate in our programs and use our facilities. We want our congregation to be a safe haven, free of all forms of inappropriate interaction. We have enlisted a Safe Sanctuary Advisory Panel to regularly review safety protocol manage background verification and address any safety concerns.
Social Activities & Small Group Opportunities
Worship on Sundays is a wonderful way to praise God and come together in our Christian community, but it’s not always easy to meet people and build meaningful relationships. We offer a variety of small groups and events which allow members to get to know others with similar interests. These include sports teams (softball team, bowling league), craft nights, senior coffee, men’s breakfast, women’s journey and many more.
Welcome Center Team
Our Welcome Center Team staffs the Welcome Table located just outside the glass, sanctuary doors. Visitors are invited to stop by to meet one of our friendly volunteers and sign our guest book. Brochures and newsletters are available at the table. Guests will even receive a special treat for joining us!
