The United Church of Christ is a major Protestant denomination in the U.S. with roots going back to the Protestant Reformation in Europe, including the Pilgrim settlers in America (Congregationalists) as well as the Germanic people who settled in America in the late 1700s and the early 1800s (Evangelical & Reformed), In 1957 these two Christian bodies became one in the United Church of Christ to form both a united and a uniting church. Today, the UCC has a membership of nearly 2 million people in 6,000 congregations throughout the U.S. The United Church of Christ is ecumenical in spirit and dedicated to a belief in liberty of conscience and freedom of worship within the bonds and teaching of the Holy Scriptures. We believe in the triune God:

We welcome diversity just as Jesus did, and believe God unites us in the Spirit of Christ. |
